Chromia 2025 Year in Review

Chromia 2025 Year in Review

2025 was a productive year for Chromia, with milestones across AI, data, DeFi, gaming, and more. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights month by month:

January

  • Chromia announced the launch of EVAL Engine on Virtuals Protocol, the first AI Agent Evaluation Plugin powered by Chromia. The $EVAL token went live on the Base network and was airdropped to native CHR stakers. Later in the year, following the integration of Base, the EVAL token migrated to Chromia mainnet.

February

  • SafePal Integration: SafePal, used by over 20 million people worldwide, integrated Chromia’s Mainnet and added native CHR support. SafePal users can now store, send, and receive CHR across both the mobile app and hardware wallet, expanding accessibility to over 200 regions.
  • Mines of Dalarnia completed its migration to Chromia, with the $D token and core game logic now running on Chromia’s relational blockchain. This transition improves scalability and performance while supporting rich, immersive on-chain gameplay.

March

  • The Mimir Upgrade went live, introducing new tools that expand Chromia’s AI capabilities and overall platform functionality. The most significant addition was the Vector Database Extension, which allows developers to store and manage vector data directly on-chain. Vector data plays a central role in modern AI systems and is an important part of Chromia’s future initiatives.

April

  • The Container Grant Program was launched to support developers exploring Chromia’s mainnet capabilities. It provides up to six months of container hosting for qualifying projects, helping lower entry barriers and encourage experimentation within the ecosystem. The program remains active, with applications continuing to be accepted.

May

  • ColorPool, Chromia’s leading decentralized exchange, went live on May 26th and has become a central hub for on-chain trading and liquidity. At launch, it introduced AMM-style swaps and a USDC bridge, enabling users to trade CHR, USDC, and COLOR directly on Chromia mainnet and bring assets in from other chains. Since then, ColorPool has expanded support to include additional ecosystem tokens like ALICE and $D, hosted staking and incentivized liquidity farming campaigns, and continues to serve as a key DeFi venue for Chromia users.

June

  • As Chromia approached its one-year mainnet anniversary, the network surpassed one million user accounts. This milestone reflects steady growth in on-chain activity and increasing adoption across applications built on the network.
  • June marked an active period for Chromia’s flagship gaming partner, My Neighbor Alice. Initiatives such as the Pudgy Penguins collaboration and the launch of Chapter One: A New Beginning highlighted how Chromia supports persistent, player-owned worlds with game state and assets managed directly on-chain.

July

  • Udon Finance, a borrowing and lending platform, launched on Chromia mainnet, enabling users to earn yield or borrow against their assets. Later in the year, the platform introduced Liquid Staking, giving users access to liquidity from their staked CHR while continuing to earn rewards.
  • Transak integrated Chromia Mainnet and listed CHR, enabling users in 160+ countries to buy CHR with fiat via credit cards, bank transfers, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. This significantly lowers the barrier for new users entering the ecosystem.

August

  • ChromBot, a physical AI device powered by Chromia and EVAL Engine, was showcased in Seoul and Hangzhou. This initiative highlights the potential of combining robotics, AI, and blockchain in real-world applications and continues to be a focus of Chromia’s Data and AI team.

September

  • Chromia completed mainnet and native CHR integration with Binance, allowing direct deposits and withdrawals via Chromia Vault. This opens the network to a wider audience and streamlines access for existing Binance users.
  • The CRC2 NFT standard was introduced to provide interoperability with ERC-721 and ERC-1155 while supporting expanded metadata, on-chain content storage, and programmability. This standard allows developers to create more complex, flexible, and feature-rich NFT projects on Chromia.

October

  • EVM staking rewards began to be phased out as part of efforts to encourage mainnet adoption and strengthen governance participation. Mainnet stakers continue to receive a 3% APR, supporting the network’s long-term sustainability and engagement.
  • Gate integrated Chromia mainnet, joining Binance, BitMart, and MEXC in supporting native CHR deposits and withdrawals. This expansion broadens Chromia’s accessibility and presence across global cryptocurrency markets.

November

  • Chromia integrated with the Virtuals Agent Commerce Protocol, providing decentralized, query-optimized storage for AI agent data. This allows developers to make agent interactions and workflows easily searchable while preserving transparency.

December

  • The Base network integration was completed and is now active, enabling the EVAL token to operate on Chromia and providing infrastructure for new project integrations.
  • Chromia Vault received an asset-centric redesign, improving usability and making it easier to manage accounts, assets, and staking.
  • ChromaWay announced a partnership with AICrit to support infrastructure and research, leveraging Chromia’s growing AI capabilities. The collaboration focuses on building repeatable workflows that provide the underlying infrastructure for scalable, data-driven experimentation.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Chromia will focus on completing governance and AI cluster mainnet deployments, expanding AI and data services, and collaborating with new partners to grow the ecosystem. The network is well positioned to support increasingly sophisticated applications and continue innovating in the new year.
