Chromia in Q4 2025: Supercharging AI, Establishing Governance, and Advancing Extensions

Chromia in Q4 2025: Supercharging AI, Establishing Governance, and Advancing Extensions

Our Q4 Roadmap update is now live, and we’re excited to share what’s ahead. It’s a packed quarter with plenty to cover, so let’s dive in!

AI Development

AI Cluster with GPU Support

One of the most important additions this quarter will be the launch of a new dedicated mainnet cluster powered by four GPU-enabled provider nodes. One node will be operated by ChromaWay, while the remaining three will come from providers with proven track records. This structure ensures both reliability and diversity in operation while expanding computational capacity on Chromia.

By enabling the network to run modern LLMs and other demanding models, we create the technical foundation needed to expand the frontier of blockchain and AI. This development will not only strengthen Chromia’s infrastructure but also open the door to new use cases and applications that require high-performance, verifiable computation.

VectorDB as a Service

The global vector database market is valued at $2.7B and expected to more than double by 2029. Chromia has a unique opportunity to establish a presence in this market by combining our architectural strengths with the transparency provided by blockchain.

While our existing VectorDB Extension is technically advanced, onboarding today involves significant setup. Mainstream adoption requires simplicity. Our goal is to abstract away this complexity and deliver a ‘one-click’ solution similar to products like Supabase and Weaviate while offering verifiable, on-chain transparency. This quarter, we are focused on building out core capabilities, laying the foundation for a go-to-market product in 2026.

AI Inference Extension v2

Last quarter, we demonstrated a Testnet demo of our Inference Extension. However, hosting modern LLMs and performing meaningful computation requires higher specifications. This objective connects directly to the planned AI Cluster: once established, the Inference Extension will be upgraded to use GPU resources for advanced on-chain computation.

The outcome is more than just speed or scale. It creates an environment where both the process and results of inference can be made transparent, with model parameters and computations recorded on-chain. This can serve Chromia dapps, AI developers on other platforms, and any use case that requires verifiable, auditable computation.

ChromBot R&D

The Physical AI Pilot delivered a working ChromBot prototype that was showcased at several meetups, where it received strong interest and positive feedback. These demonstrations validated the concept and showed that there is potential in delivering a personal robot powered by Chromia.

With this foundation, our next priority is to take the time to expand and refine ChromBot’s capabilities. By leveraging Chromia’s evolving features, we aim to create a product that is engaging, technically compelling, and useful.

Network and Governance

Base and Arbitrum Integration

Users familiar with Chromia know that it is already connected to Ethereum and Binance Chain through our Ethereum Interoperability Framework (EIF), enabling information relay and asset bridging. This quarter, we are extending that connectivity to include both Base and Arbitrum, making it possible to bridge assets from these chains onto Chromia’s mainnet ecosystem.

Chromia Governance

This quarter we will release a Governance Module that gives Native CHR stakers the ability to nominate providers, propose grants, and provide feedback. Proposal and voting rights will be exclusive to stakers on Chromia mainnet, making governance participation a key incentive for migrating CHR from Ethereum and Binance Chain. This approach is part of a broader strategy to increase mainnet adoption while giving the community a direct role in shaping the network.

The initial release will include three pre-designed templates. Over time, we plan to add greater flexibility and customization, with future iterations potentially introducing automated processes to further streamline governance. This phased approach is intended to establish a governance system that is practical at launch yet designed to evolve over the long term.

Dynamic Fee Sharing

We will be adding new functionality that allows providers to set the percentage of their network fees they wish to share with their staked delegates. This creates an incentive mechanism where stakers can evaluate not only a provider’s performance but also the share of rewards being offered.

To support this, the Vault UI will be updated to project and display estimated yields based on each provider’s chosen fee-sharing percentage. This feature introduces a natural balancing mechanism for delegations while also generating additional yield opportunities for stakers.

Extensions Infrastructure

Extensions SDK

Extensions have already introduced useful new capabilities to Chromia, such as Oracle services, AI Inference, VectorDB, and Zero-Knowledge Proofs. These modules expand what developers can build by supplementing Chromia’s core features with specialized add-ons.

Next, we will release an Extensions SDK with tools and documentation that make it possible to design and deploy custom Extensions. This will allow developers to build features tailored to the needs of specific dapps, while also providing opportunities to share and monetize their work.

Extensions Marketplace

The Extensions Marketplace will provide a curated repository and interface for deploying and accessing Extensions. By streamlining discovery and integration, it will make it easier for developers and projects to adopt new functionality. In addition, the marketplace will enable monetization, creating incentives for developers to contribute and innovate. The result will be a growing ecosystem of tools that expand Chromia’s capabilities and utility over the long term.

Let’s Go!

As you can see, we have ambitious plans to close out 2025 and plenty of work ahead. Stay tuned to Chromia’s channels for the latest updates and insights as we continue to build!
