Let’s take a look at the technical progress, key announcements, and news from around the world of Chromia from the last month:
Roadmap and Development Updates
- The Asgard Mainnet Upgrade was successfully rolled out on December 3rd. This key milestone established the framework for Chromia Extensions, modular enhancements that will give dapp builders access to enhanced features in addition to Chromia’s already impressive capabilities.
- The Oracle Extension public demo was also released on December 3rd - the page can be viewed here. The Extension is now available to be integrated by DeFi and other dapps building on Chromia.
- To reflect the progress made, both of the above items have been checked off on the Official Roadmap.
- Another feature that was introduced with Asgard is the ability to store web-based UIs on-chain, removing the need for an external web server. The Oracle demo page serves as a Proof of Concept. Read an article about Decentralized Front-End Hosting on Chromia.
- Johnson Lai, Chromia’s Head of Data and AI, is continuing to explore how Chromia can advance blockchain enabled AI and AI Agents. Check out his X account for lots of interesting content!
Ecosystem News
- MEXC announced the listing of $CHR on December 3rd.
- In an important step forward for Chromia adoption, MEXC is the first centralized exchange that has integrated Native CHR and the FT4 Token Standard. The team is working on adding more FT4 exchange integrations in the New Year!
- On December 20th, we announced a partnership with Crossmint and integrated their GOAT SDK. This enables AI Agents to manage $CHR tokens for tipping, token distribution, gamified incentives, and more. See these related tweets from Yeou Jie and Johnson Lai for more info.
- On December 10th, we published this article outlining several important changes to our staking program coming in 2025. The key takeaways are:
- APR will be adjusted from 10% to 3% as of January 1st 2025.
- To incentivize users to migrate their stake from Ethereum and Binance Chain to Chromia, there will be a Native CHR Staker exclusive airdrop in January. See below for more details.
- To make it easier to migrate, stakers will receive rewards during their withdrawal waiting period until the end of February.
- Provider staking requirements will come into effect as of March 1st 2025.
- The snapshot for the Colorpool Airdrop is coming on January 15th. To be eligible for the airdrop, you must be staking Native CHR on Chromia mainnet. Read more here.

Chrommunity Events
