Chromia x TAC: Enhanced Infrastructure for Telegram Mini Apps

Chromia x TAC: Enhanced Infrastructure for Telegram Mini Apps

Telegram has over 1 billion users and is rapidly becoming one of the most important distribution platforms for Web3 apps. With the rise of Telegram Mini Apps (TMAs), projects can now deliver blockchain experiences directly inside a familiar and frictionless interface.

Telegram enables TON wallets and tokens native to the TON blockchain to be used in TMAs. This can limit existing DeFi and gaming protocols built on Ethereum/EVM.

TAC: Bringing EVM Contracts to TON

TAC is a purpose-built Layer-1 network designed to bridge the gap between EVM and TON (The Open Network). Acting as a translator between the two systems, TAC allows developers to deploy EVM contracts in a way that is compatible with Telegram's architecture. This makes it possible to bring battle-tested DeFi protocols like Curve, Morpho, and Euler to Telegram users through TMAs.

With mainnet launch expected in the coming weeks, TAC is already collaborating with several leading DeFi protocols and has secured over $650M in locked assets through its pre-deposit campaign on Turtle Club, which is set to bootstrap liquidity for its Day 1 mainnet launch.

Chromia Joins the Stack

Chromia is proud to announce a new integration with TAC. This partnership enables TMAs hosted on TAC to enhance their architecture by storing application logic, transactions, and metadata on Chromia.

This integration also brings Chromia closer to the growing TON ecosystem and expands the utility of Chromia subchains to a new class of applications.

XOOB: An Example of Chromia x TAC in Action

The first implementation of this integrated architecture is XOOB, a gamified Telegram Mini App offering PvP and Play-to-Earn experiences. Here's how XOOB leverages the Chromia x TAC structure:

  • Users deposit USDT via the TON network to participate in games hosted on XOOB.
  • These deposits are routed through TAC and into DeFi protocols like Morpho or Euler, generating passive yield.
  • A portion of this yield is distributed to players and developers, creating a sustainable incentive model.
  • All player deposits, gameplay actions, and outcomes are stored on a Chromia subchain, ensuring complete transparency and verifiability.

This approach allows XOOB to remain user-friendly while using a fully decentralized backend. It also showcases how TMAs can evolve into trustless, economically sound platforms powered by TAC and enhanced by Chromia.

Why Chromia?

Most TMAs rely on the blockchain only for asset transfers, while the core applications are hosted on centralized cloud services like AWS. Chromia provides a more complete alternative by allowing TMAs to store user data, application logic, and evolving game or app states on dedicated Chromia subchains.

By putting both logic and metadata on-chain, TMAs can deliver greater transparency and accountability. This also enables new business models based on verifiable user engagement, such as on-chain referrals and trustless fundraising, all while maintaining a smooth and accessible user experience.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited to continue working with TAC and the dApps deploying as TMAs powered by their platform. We believe the Chromia + TAC architecture offers a compelling model for building applications that are both user-friendly and fully decentralized.
