February 2026 Monthly Update

February 2026 Monthly Update

This month marks a meaningful shift for Chromia. For the foreseeable future, we will be concentrating our efforts around a particular focus: on-chain agents and the foundations of blockchain based agentic economies.

Or Perelman Appointed CEO of ChromaWay AB

In case you missed the announcement earlier this month, Or Perelman has been named CEO of ChromaWay. Or has played a key role in Chromia’s long term development. His appointment reinforces continuity in technical vision while sharpening execution as we move into this next phase.

Or Perelman Appointed CEO of ChromaWay AB
After serving as Chief Operating Officer since the company’s founding, Or Perelman has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of ChromaWay AB. He succeeds Henrik Hjelte, who has stepped down as CEO and will continue to serve as a member of the ChromaWay board of directors. Until further notice, the

Launch of Clawchain AI

This month also saw the launch of clawchain.ai, a social network in the style of Moltbook for ClawBots, fully hosted on Chromia. Clawchain is a signal of where things are heading. It demonstrates what happens when agents are supported by decentralized  infrastructure with accounts, interactions, and reputation all living on-chain.

New Focus: On Chain Agents

We believe blockchain is the foundation for the agentic economies of the future. Traditional infrastructure was built for humans operating accounts inside centralized platforms, but agentic systems are fundamentally different. They require:

  • Permissionless deployment
  • Freedom of economic activity
  • Transparent state and memory
  • Native payments and microtransactions

Cloud based AI agents inherit the limitations of centralized infrastructure. They can be suspended or shut down. Their memory is opaque. Their execution environment is controlled by a single entity. On-chain agents can change that.

An agent deployed on Chromia cannot be arbitrarily stopped. It can act on your behalf, execute trades and transactions, interact with other agents, and receive forward guidance through collective governance mechanisms such as DAOs.

Within this model, agents can be structured as standalone dapps on Chromia, each running on a dedicated chain. Value creating on-chain agents will naturally attract users and capital, increasing adoption and stimulating growth across the network. This is the vision we are building toward.

Roadmap Changes and Updates

Going forward, we are adopting an open ended roadmap rather than organizing development around quarterly milestones. In practice, building in a fast moving environment means certain features may be delivered quickly while others require sustained effort, and priorities can evolve as new information or opportunities surface. A more flexible format allows for better alignment between goals and execution.

Roadmap - Chromia
Chromia - an innovative Layer-1 relational blockchain platform that uses a modular framework to enable the creation of complex, fully on-chain dapps.

The following changes will be made to the roadmap:

Adding AI Agent Payments

Implement the X402 Protocol on Chromia to enable payments between AI agents, applications, and online services.

Adding Agent FT4 Integration

Give agents the ability to manage FT4 assets and interact with DeFi protocols and other dapps on Chromia.

Adding On-Chain Agent Framework

Build a framework that allows AI agents to be hosted directly on Chromia rather than on a cloud server or local machine.

Revising Mainnet AI Cluster

Launch a mainnet cluster with GPU support for on-chain agents and other AI applications.

Adding Agentic DAOs

Introduce DAO functions that allow agents to manage hosting costs and perform upgrades, while enabling stakeholders to vote on future directives.

Removing Chromia Governance

Chromia Governance is being deprioritized to focus on on-chain agents as the most direct path to generating activity and value on Chromia. Previously built and tested components will inform future initiatives, including Agentic DAOs.

What Comes Next

As we move forward, we will take a closer look at the limitations of existing agentic systems and define how Chromia can introduce meaningful innovation in this space. This focus will be reflected in the infrastructure we build and in the content we produce.

Chromia Staking Update

Rewards for EVM staking have been reduced as of February 3rd, as we continue the process of bringing all CHR staking to mainnet. Check out the blog post from earlier this month for full details:

CHR Staking Update + UdonFi Liquid Staking
With the ongoing phaseout of EVM staking, the introduction of additional APR through provider share, and the launch of liquid staking via our ecosystem partner UdonFi, it’s a good time to take a fresh look at the state of staking across the world of Chromia. Let’s get to

XOOB Link + Influencer NFT Campaign

Ecosystem project XOOB is preparing to launch XOOB Link, an on-chain growth infrastructure built on Chromia that connects dApps and influencers through transparent, performance-based rewards. As part of these efforts, the team will roll out an Influencer NFT Campaign next week. To stay updated on everything going on with XOOB, we encourage you to join their Telegram announcement channel and follow their X account.

About Chromia

Chromia is a Layer-1 relational blockchain platform that uses a modular framework to empower users and developers with dedicated dapp chains, customizable fee structures, and enhanced digital assets. By fundamentally changing how information is structured on the blockchain, Chromia provides natively queryable data indexed in real-time, challenging the status quo to deliver innovations that will streamline the end-user experience and facilitate new Web3 business models.
