Today, we are excited to introduce a governance solution developed by ChromaWay’s Dapp Studio, designed to offer a customizable and user-friendly experience for both EVM and Chromia-based projects.
Powered by our Ethereum Interoperability Framework (EIF), Governance Tool for EVM delivers a flexible, cost-effective solution for DAOs, DeFi platforms, NFT ecosystems, and more. It allows projects to implement governance in a way that best suits their needs while addressing the limitations of existing products.
What is Available Now?
The demo version of the Governance Tool for EVM is now publicly available, with the code repository accessible here. This version is being deployed on Chromia’s Testnet and through EIF the following chains are supported: Base testnet, Ethereum’s Sepolia Testnet, and the Binance Chain Testnet.
Additionally, we have added a dedicated section within Chromia’s Official Documentation to assist developers in implementing the governance module.
Lastly, we have created a ‘Clickable Demo’ that introduces the Governance Tool for EVM and highlights its key features.
Key Features of Governance Tool for EVM
Seamless EVM Integration: Governance Tool for EVM demo is fully integrated with EVM, allowing projects to maintain their current infrastructure while gaining access to a customizable governance layer. Your tokens don’t need to be bridged to Chromia for governance to work. On-chain actions and token balances can be detected directly from supported EVM chains.
Ease of Deployment and Usage: Projects can implement a dedicated solution without starting from scratch. Each project can launch its own instance of the governance module, which runs on its own individual chain.
Gas Free User Experience: For end users, one of the main pain points in EVM-based governance is gas costs. Chromia’s blockchain addresses this by eliminating transaction fees for proposal submissions and votes.
Customization: Our governance module gives experienced developers deep configurability. Tailor your governance structure to your needs with customized logic and multi-token support. You can even assign weighted voting based on on-chain actions like participation frequency or trade volume.
Automation: Most governance solutions require manual intervention or use of a third-party service to take action after reaching consensus. Governance Tool for EVM can generate and execute transactions on EVM Chains and/or Chromia chains based on trigger conditions, opening the door for new possibilities in automation.
Why is Chromia Uniquely Suited to Governance Use Cases?
A key advantage of the Governance Tool for EVM is its integration with the Ethereum Interoperability Framework (EIF), which eliminates the need to bridge tokens between EVM chains and Chromia. By allowing seamless monitoring of events and token balances on EVM chains, EIF ensures that governance actions can be executed based on real-time on-chain data. Additionally, EIF enables the generation of transaction proofs that can be processed and verified by EVM chains, opening the door for automated governance processes and cross-chain interactions.
Beyond interoperability, Chromia’s relational blockchain architecture provides an efficient way to structure, query, and manage governance data, making it easier for projects to handle proposals, responses, and voting records. For more advanced users, governance instances can be further customized using Rell, allowing projects to define unique logic, assign voting rights across multiple tokens, and tailor governance to their specific needs. This combination of interoperability, flexibility, and efficiency makes the Governance Tool for EVM a powerful solution for EVM-based projects looking to implement decentralized decision-making.
How Can our Governance Tool for EVM Bring Value to the Network?
While we are still in the early stages of development, our long-term goal is to create an accessible, customizable, and powerful governance system adopted by projects across multiple blockchain networks.
Each instance of the governance module runs on its own dapp chain, meaning greater adoption of the Governance Tool for EVM will drive increased utilization of the Chromia Network.
The First Steps: Governance Tool for EVM Demo Phase
As part of the demo phase, we will integrate the Governance Tool for EVM into our Quest Season, allowing community members to test the governance UI in a real-world setting. This will provide valuable insights into user experience, interface design, and feature functionality.
We will also collaborate with new and existing partners to implement custom governance solutions. We offer dedicated support to configure governance parameters, define voting conditions, and automate processes tailored to their specific needs.
