June 2025 Monthly Update
This month’s update is a big one. With the start of a new quarter, we’re bringing some notable changes to our roadmap. These include the introduction of some interesting new objectives, as well as the rescheduling or removal of others.
After covering these roadmap updates, we’ll take a look at the latest developments and highlights from across the Chromia ecosystem over the last month.
Let’s get into it.
1M User Accounts
As we approach the one-year anniversary of mainnet on July 16th, we’ll be taking a moment to look back and share some retrospective content highlighting how far the network and ecosystem have come. We’re excited to share that Chromia mainnet has reached a major milestone with over 1 million accounts created.
Roadmap Updates
Periodically revising the roadmap is essential to ensure it remains aligned with the realities of day-to-day progress and shifting priorities. This update offers a comprehensive overview of where things currently stand, along with a detailed account of the changes being made.

Completed: ZKP Extension ✅
We’re pleased to announce that the zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) Extension is now available on testnet and will become available on mainnet in the near future.
We've released a testnet demo showcasing ‘shielded’ tokens with partial privacy. In the demo, token balances and transfer amounts are hidden from public view. You can try it here, explore the code here, and read the new documentation section here.
An upcoming article will explain in further detail how this works and discuss potential use cases for ZKP. As with any new feature, it will take time for developers to experiment and ideate. We look forward to seeing how builders utilize this module.
Modified: AI Inference Extension
Our goal for Q2 was to “establish a readily available inference service on mainnet.” While we made progress, we did not complete this objective. The Extension required foundational updates, which were necessary before moving forward.
In Q2, we successfully updated the framework of the Extension. The original Java-based version, which was better suited to running older LLM models, has been replaced with a Python-based framework. This upgrade enables support for newer, more powerful models to be hosted on-chain. The roadmap entry has been updated to reflect this progress.
Looking ahead, our initial Q3 goal is to deploy a public testnet demo using the new framework.
Added: Vector DB LangChain Integration (Q3)
Our Data and AI team is working on integrating Chromia with LangChain, one of the leading and longest-running AI agent frameworks on the market. This integration will allow developers building on LangChain to use Chromia as a data source by storing, retrieving, and interacting with on-chain data in real time.
The goal is twofold: to make Chromia visible and useful to the LangChain developer community, and to allow Chromia dapp builders to enhance their applications by creating AI agents using LangChain.
Added: Physical AI Pilot (Q3)
Chromia’s Head of Data and AI, Johnson Lai, has been closely following the growth of physical AI devices in the APAC region. His recent blog post on Xiaozhi OS and open-source AI robotics reflects this growing interest and serves as a starting point for further exploration of the intersection of physical AI and blockchain. To get an idea about what Physical AI devices look like in action, check out this post on Johnson’s X account.
We’re launching a pilot program to explore how physical AI devices can interact with Chromia to reward real-world engagement through on-chain incentives. With Chromia’s relational and vector database capabilities and our continuous AI initiatives, we’re uniquely positioned to participate in this emerging vertical. This pilot marks an early move into a rapidly evolving space.
Added: Go Client for FT4 (Q3)
As Chromia continues to grow as a Layer-1, expanding the adoption of our native CHR and our token standards across more centralized exchanges is a key priority.
To this end, we are developing a Go Client for FT4. Some notable exchanges use Go for their deposit and withdrawal infrastructure, so providing support for this language will help streamline integration.
In addition to facilitating exchange integration, this client also opens up the potential for applications built in Go to integrate with Chromia chains and tokens on their backend.
Added: CRC2 NFT Standard and EVM <> CRC2 Bridge (Q3)
CRC2 is a Chromia-native NFT standard built for interoperability with ERC-721 and ERC-1155, while offering enhanced features such as on-chain storage and expanded metadata. It evolved from an earlier standard known as “Chromia Originals.”
My Neighbor Alice is already using CRC2 in its recent mainnet release, implemented through close collaboration between the MNA and Chromia teams. They are currently using a custom bridging solution to import BEP-721 collectibles for use inside the game.
We are now preparing a public release of the CRC2 standard, complete with documentation, along with an open-source bridge that supports EVM based 721 and 1155 NFTs.
Rescheduled: Extensions SDK (Q4)
With the Asgard Upgrade in Q4 2024, we introduced Extensions, modular add-ons that developers can deploy into their dapps as needed. So far, we’ve developed three: the Oracle Extension, the Vector Database Extension, and the AI Inference Extension. Looking ahead, two key goals remain for Extensions:
- Delivering an SDK with tools and documentation for third-party developers to create their own Extensions
- Establishing a marketplace where both official and approved third-party Extensions can be selected, configured, and factored into container pricing
These goals remain active, but we’re shifting the SDK timeline to Q4 2025 to align with the marketplace. Consolidating both efforts into the same quarter will support a more efficient and coordinated development process.
Removed: EVM Ingestion and Data Availability Extension
We’ve removed the EVM Ingestion and Data Availability Extensions from the active roadmap.
Last month, we announced plans to shift EVM Ingestion to Q3, with Data Availability already scheduled for Q3 development. However, the realities of agile Layer-1 development mean priorities can shift based on our core team’s assessment as well as the needs of our ecosystem partners.
At this time, our resources are better allocated to other objectives. Both EVM Ingestion and Data Availability remain potentially interesting and viable directions for Chromia, and they may return to the roadmap in the future.
Ecosystem and Development Highlights from June
My Neighbor Alice

June was a huge month for one of our flagship partners, My Neighbor Alice. The team kicked things off with a high-profile collaboration with Pudgy Penguins, unlocking exclusive in-game content for NFT holders.
They followed this up with the launch of Chapter One: A New Beginning, the first full release of the game on our mainnet. This marks a major step forward in Web3 gaming, showcasing how Chromia’s infrastructure enables rich, persistent, and player-owned game worlds.
June also saw the ALICE token go live on mainnet using the recently deployed Token Chain.
Also! Get ready to kick off the summer with Pengu and Alice’s Beachfest at ETH CC in Cannes! Join us at the iconic Copal Beach for an unforgettable evening of music, good vibes, and sunset views over the Mediterranean. RSVP Here and we hope to see you there!
Token Chain
Chromia’s Token Chain is now live on mainnet, simplifying asset management across the network. It currently supports CHR and ALICE, with more coming soon.

Chromia x TAC

Chromia is excited to join forces with TAC, a Layer-1 network that brings EVM smart contracts to the TON ecosystem. This integration allows developers to combine the user friendliness of TMAs with Chromia to decentralize their backend infrastructure. Read more in our recent blog post.
Developer Grant Program

The Chromia Developer Grant Program is still open and accepting applications. If you’re a developer who wants to ‘build brilliant’ on Chromia, we’d love to hear from you. Read all the details here.
Explorer Improvements
Not to be lost in everything else going on, just a reminder that we’re continuing to improve core tools like Vault and the Chromia Explorer. One recent upgrade worth checking out is the new “cluster view” in the Explorer, which provides a useful overview of SCUs, resource usage, and lease expiry information.
Looking Ahead to Q3
As we approach the one-year anniversary of mainnet, progress continues across multiple fronts:
- The Data and AI team working on LangChain integration and exploring physical AI.
- More assets are coming to Token Chain, setting the stage for expanded DeFi activity.
- Bringing native CHR to additional centralized exchanges.
- Preparing the CRC2 NFT standard for public release.
As always, follow our official channels for updates as we continue to build!
Revision: Parts of this article have been updated regarding ZKP. The original version incorrectly stated that ZKP was integrated at the base layer of Chromia. This has been revised to clarify that zero-knowledge proofs are made available to developers through the ZKP Extension.
