Chromia Community,
We’re excited to share a significant update as we continue to build momentum in 2024. Following the successful launch of our first public mainnet earlier this year, Chromia is now shifting gears toward the next phase of development and ecosystem expansion. Releasing this interim roadmap is the first step on this journey, and we’re eager to walk you through the highlights.
What is TOKEN2049 Singapore?
TOKEN2049 is one of the world’s largest crypto conferences, taking place at the Marina Bay Sands Resort in Singapore on September 18-19. We’ve intentionally kept some of our objectives under wraps until this event, fueling anticipation for what’s to come throughout 2024 and 2025.
Chromia will be presenting on September 18th, where we will discuss the completion of our MVP mainnet phase and outline key development objectives and ecosystem initiatives that will drive our continued expansion.
Interim Objectives
Our roadmap highlights some intermediate goals for Q3 and Q4, which will bring the MVP mainnet phase to close and set the stage for future developments.
- Native Staking: We’re transitioning our staking system to the Chromia Mainnet. This upgrade will allow users to stake on Chromia, Ethereum, and Binance Chain, and delegate their tokens to a mainnet provider through a single interface. Moving governance and rewards onto Chromia will reduce our reliance on EVM, with the rollout expected before the end of the month.
- Filehub Mainnet Launch: The Filehub mainnet release is a publicly accessible version of Chromia’s on-chain file storage utility. In exchange for CHR, clients can secure decentralized storage space on the Chromia Network. The service will most commonly be used for large token metadata like images, animations, videos, and music. However, it also supports general-purpose storage, and can also be used for decentralized website hosting.
- Bridge Enhancements: CHR withdrawals to EVM will be integrated into Chromia Vault. Additionally, the bridge will be fortified with extra security features in preparation for expanded TVL and asset support.
Chromia for Data
Chromia's advanced data-handling capabilities make it a powerful foundation for dapps, with every application built on our platform benefiting from our relational architecture. This architecture excels in structuring and querying information, making Chromia an ideal choice for projects with complex data needs.
Filehub introduces additional utility by providing on-demand access to storage through our provider network. Traditionally, blockchains have limits on token metadata size and complexity, introducing reliance on centralized storage and other third-party solutions. Filehub addresses these limitations and provides a decentralized alternative that can be used by Chromia native dapps and Web3 projects built on other blockchains.
The Next Big Moment
Today’s transitional roadmap is guiding us toward our presentation at TOKEN2049, scheduled for September 18th. During this event, we will unveil our full roadmap while outlining ambitious plans for the future of the Chromia ecosystem. We’re excited to take the stage and share more details. Stay tuned for further updates, and thank you for your continued support as we take Chromia to new heights.
