Chromia Monthly Update June 2024: Incentivized Testing is Live!

Welcome to the sixth monthly update of 2024. During our ‘Road to Mainnet’ phase, updates will primarily focus on the roadmap while briefly discussing key announcements and news from the Chromia ecosystem.

Roadmap Updates

  • ‘Chromia Vault’ has been marked as done, as the first public versions are now accessible as part of our Incentivized Testing Program (ITP). Vault will add support for account creation and bridging in the near future, and receive UI/UX upgrades.
  • ‘Test Mainnet Release Candidate’ is now in progress. Read more about the Incentivized Testing Program below.

Trail of Bits Audit Complete

The Trail of Bits audit was completed in June, and the team has already implemented many of the suggestions given in the report. Nothing found in the audit is considered a major blocker to mainnet delivery.

We will be publishing an article in July summarizing the results of all of the audits and HackNet.

When Mainnet?

On April 29th, we published a message from co-founder Alex Mizrahi that stated:

“After assessing the results of incentivized testing and the audit process, our departments (C-level, development, marketing, business development, etc.) will coordinate to set and announce an official mainnet launch date.”

We are now in the process of evaluating all the available information and determining a launch timeline. As mentioned previously, ProjectNet and QuestNet completion are non-essential for establishing a launch date. When a decision is made, we will be sure to let you know!

Incentivized Testing Program is Live

Earlier this month, our Incentivized Testing Program kicked off. The program has 250,000 CHR in prizes, spread across three separate initiatives. You can visit the ITP Hub here.

View our latest update with additional information about the testing program here.

QuestNet (open until August 30)

QuestNet is designed for everyday users and will award a total of 100k CHR.

The program can be accessed by anyone who is either (a) staking CHR, or (b) has an EVM address with a minimum of 10 transactions on Ethereum or Binance Chain.

QuestNet has already accumulated almost 4,000 interactions and processed 30,000+ transactions. Visit the QuestNet page here.

The first quest sequence is now live, and directs users to create a Chromia account, explore access controls, and complete their first tCHR transfer. Bridging and governance modules are coming soon. Be sure to check the QuestNet Dashboard regularly for new activities!

ProjectNet (open until July 26)

ProjectNet is used as a submission network for our demo dapp contest. We are accepting submissions until July 26th. The top three dapps, as chosen by our panel, will receive prizes of 20k CHR, 16k CHR, and 12k CHR. Visit the ProjectNet page for more information.

HackNet (open until June 28)

The HackNet report submission deadline is today. We have received a handful of reports, mostly regarding UX improvements. We will take the time to review these reports and incorporate their feedback as needed. All submissions that result in an improvement made by our team will be rewarded.

As stated on the HackNet page, any leftover CHR tokens in the 100k CHR pool at the conclusion of the event will be rolled back into the promotional fund for future use.

Chromia Learn and Earn

On the community front, the Telegram and Discord team have launched a ‘Chromia Learn and Earn’ program that rewards users for completing Galxe quests. The program also includes a number of ‘play sessions’, which bring the community together for friendly gaming competitions. Read full details about the Learn and Earn program here.

AMA with Ludvig Oberg, Core Product Manager

On June 14, we got together with Ludvig Oberg on our Twitter Spaces to ask questions about the Incentivized Testing Program, developing in Rell, and other topics of interest. You can listen to a recording of the AMA here

Media Coverage

We were happy to see Chromia popping up in various places throughout crypto media this month. Some notable examples included coverage from crypto media such as Coinspeaker, Altcoin Buzz, and shout-outs from Full Value Dan and Ivan on Tech, who checked in with us during a livestream.

Coming Up in July

  • Audit + HackNet report
  • New QuestNet content
  • ProjectNet submission deadline on July 26th
  • Additions and improvements to Vault
  • Galxe Quests and Play Sessions
