Mines of Dalarnia, My Neighbor Alice and Chromia launch an $80m Metaverse Grant Program

Mines of Dalarnia, My Neighbor Alice and Chromia launch an $80m Metaverse Grant Program

The program will make a total of $80m USD available to developers who wish to create add-ons, utilities, and standalone games that interact with the two flagship titles and the Chromia gaming ecosystem at large.

Chromia is quickly establishing itself as a metaverse and P2E platform to watch, with notable gaming projects Mines of Dalarnia (MoD), My Neighbor Alice (MNA), and Revolve Games utilizing Chromia’s technology in their network topology.

In a push to accelerate the development of more add-ons and interconnected game worlds, Chromia is joining forces with the MoD and MNA teams to establish a Metaverse Grant Program. The program will award research and development grants to the most promising concepts, while also providing documentation and technical assistance to expedite the development process.

While Chromia will also function as a general purpose Layer-1 and Layer-2 blockchain, several unique traits make it a powerful tool for blockchain game developers.  Relational database architecture makes data storage and retrieval more efficient than traditional blockchains, while the Chromia Originals NFT standard offers enhanced features and functionality over the familiar ERC-721 standard. In addition, Chromia’s blockchain will support asset sharing across supported titles that are connected to its network. This means that as the gaming ecosystem grows, complex synergies can form between multiple in-game economies. With the launch of the Metaverse Grant Program, the race is on to create an interconnected world full of possibilities!

Mines of Dalarnia

The P2E action adventure game Mines of Dalarnia is quickly gaining traction in the rapidly expanding blockchain gaming space. With over 100,000 users interacting with the testnet and over 4 million transactions generated on chain, the game is proving itself to be enjoyable for the casual user and gaming enthusiast alike.

Mines of Dalarnia is being envisioned as a ‘first stop’ for metaverse gaming, by providing new users with a streamlined experience. As metaverse gaming is still in its early stages, resources for players are limited and the gaming experience is not optimized. Rather than starting with a completely user generated universe, MoD starts with action-based mining and then gradually expands into additional activities such as crafting, land sales, and enhanced social features.

My Neighbor Alice

Since the launch of the ALICE token earlier this year, My Neighbor Alice has emerged as one of the most exciting play-to-earn games being developed in the blockchain gaming sector. With a successful alpha playtest, minigame add-ons and multiple NFT sales under its belt, the game has amassed a large and devoted community.

Now, the My Neighbor Alice team is establishing a Metaverse Grant Program in order to expand and enrich its gaming universe. Grants will be available for developers building add-ons and utilities for the game itself, but also for teams looking to design standalone games that can interact with the world of Lummelunda.

My Neighbor Alice utilizes the Chromia network as part of its backend design, allowing other supported titles to share assets across game worlds. As the number of participants in the ecosystem expands, complex synergies can form between multiple in-game economies. This also opens the possibility of cross-dapp adventures, where an asset acquired in one game can help the user progress in another. The Metaverse Grant Program will accelerate this expansion to create a gaming metaverse that is more robust, immersive, and resilient.

This is an important step for the rapid growth of our ecosystem and presence in the blockchain gaming sector. We believe the platform we are building is a game changer, and this grant program will ensure that our technology is being pushed to its full potential. -Or Perelman - COO, Chromia
Our game studio believes that NFTs and the in-game economies they create will become a staple of the gaming industry. We are proud to be part of the Chromia ecosystem and strive to make Mines of Dalarnia the entry point for many blockchain users to the metaverse. -Manfred Pack - Project Lead, Mines of Dalarnia
From the beginning, My Neighbor Alice has been guided by a philosophy of flexibility and inclusivity. By encouraging the growth of other interconnected projects, we can expand our community by providing an even greater range of experiences. -Lenny Pettersson - CMO, My Neighbor Alice
