Welcome to the third monthly update of 2024. During our ‘Road to Mainnet’ phase, updates will primarily focus on the roadmap while briefly discussing the provider network, Chromia’s Appnet, and other key announcements.
Native Fees
In March, we moved one step closer to mainnet by completing the first version of the Native Fees system. This interface allows users to deposit CHR tokens and lease resource containers, into which they can deploy dapps and data utilities like Filechain, Filehub, etc.
Completion of the Native Fees dapp is a significant milestone because it fulfills one of the primary utilities of CHR tokens while allowing anyone to deploy dapps and services on the Network. The dapp is being used on our internal Devnet and will also be part of the public testing phase.
We have updated the roadmap to reflect our progress, and development resources are now being rerouted to other objectives.
FT4 Bridge Integration and Extended Bridge Functions
The core bridge code has been audited and completed. The audits, carried out by Quantstamp and Cure53, are linked in February’s update. We are now performing intermittent updates as necessary based on FT4 protocol updates, and working to add the following extended functions:
- A method that allows dapps to offload bridge events to a separate chain.
- Enabling automated updates to provider lists in EVM bridge contracts.
- EVM Anchoring (listed on the roadmap as External Anchoring to Ethereum).
Native CHR
Native CHR refers to Chroma tokens that are issued on the Chromia Network, as opposed to on Ethereum (ERC-20) or Binance Chain (BEP-20).
We have already developed the tools needed to send tCHR tokens from Ethereum and Binance testnets to Chromia’s testnet, but actual bridging won’t take place until the release candidate is finalized and deployed.
Chromia Vault
Chromia Vault is the official wallet for dapp browsing, account management, and token transfers. The development team has already completed transfer and transaction history functions, and are now focusing on (1) the creation of FT4 accounts and other account management features, and (2) bridge integration and bridge UI.
Chromia Vault will be rolled out for public use when release candidate testing begins.
Release Candidate Preparation
Our development teams are coordinating on the final tasks required to advance to the testing phase.
We are anticipating that the remaining roadmap objectives (FT4 Bridge, Native CHR, Chromia Vault, External Anchoring) will be updated simultaneously when Mainnet Release Candidate Testing begins.

Chromia Appnet Updates
- My Neighbor Alice has now generated ~2M transactions.
- VfB Stuttgart’s Digital Collectibles Marketplace has surpassed 27k transactions, providing a real-world example of Filechain and Filehub being used to deliver on-chain digital collectible assets.
Cloudborn Has Joined the Chromia Gaming Ecosystem
On March 14th, we announced Cloudborn as the latest game coming to the Chromia ecosystem. The game was demonstrated at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco last week, and it’s looking great! Check out the announcement trailer here.
Forging Web3’s Future with Animoca Brands in Hong Kong
Chromia is teaming up with Animoca Brands at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival, being held at the HK Convention and Exhibition Center from April 6th to April 9th. Together, we will co-host a side event on April 9th, “Forging Web3’s Future”. The event will focus on a variety of topics including blockchain gaming, decentralized infrastructure, AI, and more. Keep an eye on our X account for follow-up posts and pictures from the event!
Upcoming AMA
On Monday April 1st, we will be hosting a Web3 gaming AMA on X! Join us at 15:00 CET where will be joined by co-hosts DAR Open Network, as well as My Neighbor Alice, Chain of Alliance and Cloudborn.
Looking Ahead to April
Both February and March have seen milestones checked off on our roadmap, and we are now entering into the home stretch of our ‘Road to Mainnet’.
With Q1 coming to a close, things are set up for an exciting and eventful Q2. Development teams are converging on the remaining tasks and we are looking forward to rolling out the final updates that will kick off the testing phase.
As always, keep an eye on Chromia’s official channels for the latest updates!
